Almost hidden in the City of Rogers, tucked away in the extreme Northwestern corner of the State of Arkansas, there’s an interesting bit of history. It’s the Rogers Daisy Airgun Museum. Why Rogers, Arkansas? Well that’s where the Daisy company started – way back in 1891. And that’s where it is still located today.
The museum talks about the Daisy Airgun as the “history you grew up with …..” And for many, including me, that’s true. I grew up shooting my very own Daisy at various targets in my Michigan youth. I was quite a good shot if I do say so myself. And you know, I still have my classic Daisy pump action air gun. And I’m still a good shot with it.
Of course guns today are a bit controversial. But actually, that has always been true. Even back “in the day”, mothers (as well as others I’m sure) were concerned about gun safety. Have you ever seen the classic film “A Christmas Story”. (If not – well it’s a classic that you should check out.) In it the mother of the child star is constantly concerned that if her son gets an airgun for Christmas that he might “shoot his eye out” with it. To me, the key seems to be growing up and learning how to respect and handle guns appropriately. And this is a message that has always been associated with the Daisy company and is emphasized in the museum in Rogers.

Today you can get the Red Ryder lever action in the standard wood stock or in pink!
Daisy continues to produce a full line of air guns in Rogers Arkansas. The main company building was relocated to an industrial park in the north part of Rogers in 1999. That’s when the museum portion was expanded and moved into a 1906 bank building at 114 South First Street in the center of Historic Rogers Arkansas. The Daisy Airgun Museum is quite a treat. Definitely worth a visit the next time you are in the neighborhood.
Check out the history …….. And Enjoy The Adventure!
