iPhone 5S Photography

Bryce 1

(Bryce National Park – recent iPhone 5 photo)

The photo at the top of this article is one I recently made on a road trip through the Southwest.  I used my iPhone 5 camera and I really like the results.  Since then I have acquired my iPhone 5S  and I recently wrote about my hope that it’s onboard camera would provide even better images than those I got using my iPhone 5.(click here for that article) Well, my own personal testing and experimentation is still in progress.  But I recently ran across an interesting article by Jim Richardson which gives me great hope.

Jim Richardson is an outstanding photographer.  How outstanding?  Well – let’s just say he shoots for “National Geographic” and is a contributing editor of it’s “sister” publication “Traveler Magazine.”  Enough said?  Jim is a native of Kansas and resides in Lindsborg Kansas where he and  his wife  operate a studio and gallery called Small World.  I stopped by Small World earlier this summer and was totatly blown away by the images and photographic items on display.  I had a lovely chat with his wife who kindly took the time to show me around.  Unfortunately Jim was not available.  Seems at the time he was off doing something else – like doing a shoot in Peru! You can check out Jim’s work on his website: Jim Richardson.  Or better yet, stop by the next time you are in Lindsborg.

Jim recently wrote an article for “Proof” which is an online photography site offered by National Geographic.  Seems Jim took his new iPhone 5S with him as his primary camera on a shoot in Scotland.  In his article “Capturing the Aura of the Scottish Highlands with the iPhone 5S” Jim offers his insights and opinions regarding the 5S as well as a variety of his 5S images.  The images are outstanding!  Seems the iPhone 5S is capable of producing great images.  Of course it doesn’t hurt if you are a National Geographic caliber photographer like Jim!

iPhone 5S Photography ………   Enjoy The Adventure!
