RoadTrek RV in the Dakotas
My ROAD TREK on the plains of South Dakota/ bwb-images

I love a good road trip – how about you?  If you have been dreaming of that long road adventure, that drive taking you over the next hill and around the next bend – just to see what’s there – well now might be the best time to change that dream into action.  Why?  In case you haven’t noticed – gasoline prices are down – way down.  As in, they fell off a cliff.  I just tanked up this morning in my Jeep.  The price of gas?  $1.89 per gallon.  Let me say that again – One Dollar (U.S.) and Eighty Nine Cents Per Gallon.  I’m saying that out loud as I write it.  It sounds just so absolutely great! Sort of just rolls off the tongue leaving a big grin on my face.

It’s been a long time since gas prices were this low.  I’m not exactly sure how long it has been.  My personal records show I paid $1.83 per gallong back in April of 2009.   Meanwhile, I also recall that in the past I have paid as much as $5.00 for a gallon of gas. I think it was around 2007 and it was near Glacier National Park in Montana.  That price really grabbed my attention – and stuck in my memory.

So today’s gas at $1.89 per gallon seems really nice.  How did it get this low?  I have no idea.  I suspect some behind the scenes geo-political stuff is afoot.  Eventually this may all come back to bite us in the butt.  However, in the meantime I’m doing my Buddhist thing of trying to enjoy the moment.

Bottom Line:  If you have been thinking about a Road Trip – NOW IS THE TIME BABY!

Hit The Road! ……. And Enjoy The Adventure!
