5 GREAT PLACES IN KANSAS CITY

KC Aerial 1
Aerial View of Kansas City

Kansas City lies in the “Heartland” of America. Many are unaware that there are actually two Kansas Cities – Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas.  They blend into each other, sitting astride the state line which defines these two states.  But the two Kansas Cities have a common heritage and location reflected in their shared use of the name – Kansas City – a name often used to denote the area rather than one particular city or the other.

Kansas City and the surrounding area has much to offer  visitors to the region.  Here are five of my favorite places

5 Great Places in Kansas City

NATIONAL WORLD WAR I MUSEUM AND MEMORIAL –

Overlooking the central city area of Kansas City, the National World War I Museum and Memorial honors those who served in World War I. The beautiful grounds compliment the impressive architecture. The museum offers dynamic displays and  information to thousands of visitors each year.

Kansas City and Jazz are synonymous, with a jazz history dating back to the  1920s.  It all started, and remains focused today in the 18th & Vine area of Kansas City.

NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM OF ART –

Known for it’s neoclassical architecture and it’s extensive Asian Art Collection, The “Nelson” is one of the gems of Kansas City.  Stroll the beautiful 22 acre grounds, home to the Donald J Hall Sculpture Park, grab a bite to eat in the 15th Century Style Rozzell Court, or wander the wonderful exhibits.
