YANGON CIRCLE TRAIN -ENJOY THE RIDE!
Perhaps it’s because my grandfather was a railroad engineer, but whatever the reason, I have always enjoyed trains. Whenever I travel I try to include a bit of train travel in my itinerary. So it was no surprise that I found a way to grab a train ride when in Myanmar.

Let me share some photos grabbed during my train ride around Yangon, Myanmar
The Circle Train is a great way to see different parts of Yangon, and to meet some wonderful people in the process.
You can purchase some local eats at stations along the circuit to enjoy on the ride. Women in Myanmar frequently wear Tanaka Paste on their faces as a cosmetic and also as protection against the sun.
Most of the railroad circuit runs north out of Yangon, making various stops at small communities. Many stops also have outdoor markets nearby or even at the stop. You can “hop on & hop off” the Circle Train – tickets are cheap and are good for the entire day.
After enjoying yourself at a stop, hop back on the Circle Train and continue your journey. Numerous trains follow each other by about 30 to 40 minutes so you don’t have to wait long to reboard. Each train is also a bit different. This one is very nice, uncrowded with padded seats.
