From Chiang Mai, Thailand
New Year’s in Chiang Mai is Party Time. Every New Year’s Eve a huge crowd gathers in the square outside the Tha Phae Gate to the Old City. Fire dancers, entertainers and street musicians of all sorts combine to create a chaotic and fun experience for all ages. In keeping with long standing Asian tradition, families send fire lanterns aloft.
I was there in 2017/18 and had a great time. I plan to go again this year. You can view a short video from my 2017/2018 visit below.
ALL THE BEST IN 2020!
2019 was a great year here at Travel And Photo Today and I’ve shared much of it with you in articles and photos. I’ve spent time with special old friends and met some wonderful new friends as well. I’ve explored some interesting photographic opportunities (How about flying with the Army’s Golden Knights? or getting up close and personal with The P-51 and The Red Tail Squadron!?) I’ve managed to do some travel as well including Israel, Wadi Rum and Petra in Jordan and Thailand. My thanks to all of you for joining me here at Travel And Photo Today on my journey through 2019.
I hope that 2019 has been a great year for you as well. As the decade draws to a close I’d like to share with each of you my best wishes for 2020 and the coming year. I hope it brings you peace and happiness and lots of adventure. I look forward to sharing more articles with you in 2020 on travel and photography from around the world.
My thanks to all of you for sharing this journey through 2019. Enjoy your New Year’s Celebrations. I hope you’ll join me for more adventures yet to be as we follow the path into 2020.
HAVE A GREAT 2020 ………
